Brushed & Oiled Engineered Wood Flooring

Brushed and oiled engineered wood flooring has been brushed lightly to expose more of the natural qualities and charm of the wood. It has then been finished with layers of oil to protect it from daily wear and tear, which provide a natural and traditional looking matt finish to the flooring. Some of the floors in this range have also had a stain added to create different colour options to suit differing tastes and interiors. All of our engineered Oak floors have a top layer of Oak, and then a plywood base to give extra strength and stability.

Why should I choose brushed and oiled engineered wood flooring?

A brushed and oiled wooden floor will give you the natural beauty of the wood, whilst protecting it from footfall. There are many advantages of choosing an engineered hardwood floor. You are still walking on a natural, beautiful flooring material and you also have the benefits of the planks of flooring being extremely stable so that they can be used with underfloor heating, used in conservatories, and they do not need to be fixed to the subfloor during the installation process. Once the flooring has been installed, it would be very hard for anyone to distinguish between a solid wood floor and an engineered wood floor as they look exactly the same on the surface. See our blog on Advantages of Engineered Wood Flooring, for more details.

As with all types of engineered wood flooring, you have a choice on how to fit the floor, depending upon your subfloor and other requirements of the room. For more advice on installing hardwood floors, please see our Fitting and Installation Guide.
