Plank Solid Wood Flooring
Solid plank flooring is a very popular type of flooring. It is a single plank of flooring that has been milled and machined out of one solid piece of hardwood. Once installed, it offers beauty and splendour and is thought of as a lavish floor covering.
Why should I choose solid plank flooring?
Solid plank flooring is a great choice if you are looking for a truly natural flooring product that creates elegance, luxury and beauty, and can last a lifetime. It is usually found with a tongue and groove fitting profile, which has been used for centuries and helps to create a tight and seamless floor.
You will have a choice of species of wood for your flooring, anything from the pale tones of Maple, right through to dark mysterious Walnut. Choosing the correct species of wood is important as this is what provides the colour and grain pattern that you will see. The flooring planks usually have random lengths so that a natural looking flooring pattern can be created during installation.
It is easy to look after and can be sanded down and refinished in years to come, which will help to revive its beauty and give it a new lease of life.
If you are still unsure of which particular style of flooring to choose, have a look at our Wood Flooring Guide, which offers more information on the structure, profile and finishes of all of our hardwood floors.
Do you sell matching flooring accessories?
Yes, we do sell a range of matching flooring accessories that are sure to add the finishing touches to any of our floors. During the installation of your floor, gaps will be left around the edge of the room and usually in doorways. These gaps can be covered up with any of our flooring profiles, including: beading, skirting, pipe covers and door bars.
