Wood Preserver
Wood preservers are designed to protect to your wooden product. There are different wood preservers for different types of wood, whether it be internal hardwood worktops or external doors or decking. The wood preserver is usually water resistant, it helps to reduce the risk of swelling or shrinking of the wood and protects the wood from rotting, mildew and algae. By adding a wood protector you are helping to look after your hardwood and prolong its life expectancy and natural beauty.
What is wood preserver?
A wood preserver, sometimes known as a primer, is usually a liquid base coat that you add to hardwood fixtures and fittings that you may have in your home, such as decking, doors, window frames, window sills, worktops or anything that may come into contact with moisture, water or the outdoor elements. Our range of Osmo wood preservers are all specifically designed to be used in different areas so make sure you choose the correct one for you type of hardwood.
Within the range of wood preservers, we have products that can be used internally and externally, they are water resistant, they are animal and plant friendly, they can resist the growth of mildew, algae and fungi, and they can reduce the shrinking or swelling of hardwood. Once you have chosen the correct preserver for you, and have applied the correct number of coats, you may need to finish your wood with either an oil or lacquer to ensure it is fully protected, so be sure to read the manufacturers guidelines.
