Parquet block flooring can be used to create fun and stylist patterns.  The small blocks of flooring are uniform in size, meaning that they can be fitted together to create geometric patterns. There are three main patterns that can be created: Herringbone, Basket Weave and Brick Bond.  Alongside these patterns, the blocks can be used to provide beautiful borders around the edge of your room.  Be sure to check first though, as some patterns need to have specific sized parquet blocks.  

When choosing a new wooden floor, you will have to decide between solid or engineered wood.  They both look exactly the same once installed but have some very significant differences that you will want to know about.  The most obvious difference is how the planks of flooring have been made, which then affects how you can install and use them.

If you choose an engineered wooden floor, you have much more flexibility in where you can install it.  Engineered hardwood is much more stable so can withstand fluctuations in temperature, moisture and humidity.  You will still need to be very careful in rooms with excessive water (bathrooms and utility rooms), and we would not recommend that you install your wooden floor in these types of rooms.  That being said, there are plenty of areas where you can install a wooden floor in your home.
