Cleaning your new SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) flooring is really easy. SPC is a type of rigid vinyl flooring, which is durable and robust and also easy to look after. It won’t dent or scratch as easily as a wooden floor, but you will still need to keep on top of a cleaning routine to maintain its beauty and freshness.
Simple steps to cleaning my SPC
Firstly, you will want to try and prevent your new SPC floor from accumulating dirt. To do this, you might want to place door mats at all entrance doors. They will help to catch any excess water, grit or dirt from your shoes. You might also want to ask visitors to remove their footwear before walking in your SPC floor.
Secondly, you should adopt a regular but simple cleaning routine. Don’t worry, this shouldn’t be time-consuming if you just keep on top of it. We recommend sweeping your floor on a daily or regular basis (or you can use a vacuum cleaner with a suitable wooden floor attachment). This will remove any dirt, dust, crumbs or pet hair from the surface of the SPC floor.
Finally, you should clean your floor with a suitable cleaning product. How often you do this will depend on how busy and dirty your floor gets. We would recommend cleaning at least once a week, using Bona Tile and Laminate Spray Mop. It has everything you will need: a spray mop with a trigger in the handle, a refillable cleaning solution bottle, a removable microfibre cleaning pad, and an ergonomic design to reach into the difficult corners of your floor.
