Wood flooring glue, which is also referred to as wood flooring adhesive, is used during the installation of hardwood flooring.  There are two main types of glue that you may need depending upon the installation method and type of flooring your have.

Create a full surface bond[/caption] If you decide to glue your hardwood flooring directly down to your existing subfloor you will need to use a flexible flooring adhesive, such as Bona R848 or Sika MS, and ensure you have a full surface bond so that the planks of flooring are unable to move around after the installation process. If you have tongue and groove flooring and decide to float it over an underlay you will need to glue the lengths and widths of the tongues and grooves together with a WPVA glue to ensure a tight and secure fit.  This will still allow your hardwood floor to float over the underlay, but make sure there are no gaps in between the planks of flooring.
