All of our floors are suitable for residential use.  However, if you are looking for flooring for commercial spaces, then you will need something more durable and hard wearing. Not all types of floors can withstand the extra footfall that is associated with busy areas.  Have a look below for the types of floors that we would recommend to use for commercial spaces.

Can I use hardwood flooring for commercial spaces?

Yes, you can use hardwood flooring for commercial spaces.  First of all you would want to choose one of the more durable flooring species, such as Oak. Furthermore, we would advise you to fully bond the flooring to the subfloor, as this will give it more stability. As with any hardwood flooring, it would be susceptible to daily wear and tear, which can add to the character and appeal. If you are looking for a natural flooring product for a commercial space, you may want to look at Bamboo Flooring.  Some types of bamboo are over twice as hard as Oak flooring, making them ideal for busy commercial areas.

Can I use LVT flooring for commercial spaces?

There are certain ranges of LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile), that you can use in commercial areas.  They are more durable and robust.  LVT can be found in a wide range of effects, styles and patterns. Furthermore, you will even find that LVT is waterproof and has a scratch resistant surface layer.  If you are using LVT in a commercial area, then you will need to glue it directly to the subfloor to create additional stability.
