A hardwood door bar is a hardwood flooring accessory that is used between doorways.  There are many different types of hardwood door bars, depending upon the layout of your room. You may also find a door bar called a ‘threshold’.  The door bar you will need will depend upon what type and level of floor is next to your wooden floor. Quite often, the floors will be of different levels, so a door bar or threshold will help to give you a stable transition between the two.

When would I use a hardwood door bar?

You would use a hardwood door bar when you are installing hardwood floor into a room.  The door bar sits in the door way and acts as a transition between your wooden floor and the floor in the next room.  For example, it would cover the gap left between the wooden floor the adjacent floor, e.g. tiles, carpet, etc. You have a choice of style of door bar, depending upon your requirements.

Here are some of the most popular door bars:

Wood to carpet door bar:  This is perfect to fit between a hardwood floor and a carpet.

Ramp door bar: You would use this to join two floors that are at a different level.

T door bar: This is ideal to join two floors that are the same level.

Flat door bar: Again, you would use this to join two floors of the same level.
