A hardwood floor can last for a lifetime if it is looked after properly. One part of looking after your floor may be to re-oil the surface from time to time.  How often you will need to do this will depend on the type of hardwood floor you have and how often it is used.

For example, if you have an Oak floor that is used on a daily basis in a busy area, you may want to re-oil the surface every 5-10 years.

What is the best product for re-oiling my floor?

We often get asked  'what is the best product to re-oil my wooden floor?' We would always recommend using Osmo Polyx Oil.  It has been developed and designed using natural oils and waxes to provide a hardwearing and durable protective layer to your wooden floor.  It will help to emphasis the wood’s natural grain pattern and characteristics. There are four different finishes to choose from:

• Glossy

• Satin

• Semi Matt

• Matt

If you are looking for an oil to add a slight colour tint to your hardwood floor, then we would recommend using Osmo Polyx Oil Tints. This oil has all the same benefits of the Original Osmo Polyx Oil, but there are different coloured tints to choose from.  This product allows you to be creative and can revamp the look of your hardwood floor.  The choice of colour tints are:

• White

• Light Grey

• Honey

• Amber

• Terra

• Graphite

• Black

What are the benefits of using Osmo Polyx Oil to re-oil my wooden floor?

• Firstly, your floor will look refreshed and revived.

• In addition, the surface of your floor will be protected.

• Furthermore, Osmo Polyx Oil is water and dirt resistant.

• Also, the oil is very durable and hard wearing.

• The natural character of the wood will be enhanced.

• It gives a breathable finish which will not crack, peel or flake.

• Finally, there is no need to sand your floor for future applications.
