What is click flooring?

Click hardwood flooring has been designed to provide simple and straight forward installation.  It is becoming very popular with homeowners or developers who wish to fit the flooring themselves. The planks of click wooden flooring have interlocking joints, which are machined onto the edge of the plank.  These joints click and lock together and provide a tight, secure fit, without the need for glue, screws or nails.

How do I install click flooring?

The most common way to install click flooring is to float it over an underlay.  The planks of flooring should be ‘clicked’ together but not fixed to the underlay in any way.  Alternatively, click flooring can be glued directly to the subfloor if necessary.  Click flooring should never be installed over joists as it requires a solid base.
