Herringbone Oak flooring is a type of wooden floor made from Oak and is displayed in a herringbone pattern. Oak is the most common species of wood used in flooring and gives you a beautiful grain pattern with pale and golden tones running throughout.  Herringbone is the pattern created by using parquet block of flooring.  You lay the blocks of flooring in a V shape to create a ‘herringbone pattern’.

What does herringbone oak flooring look like?

As already mentioned, a herringbone Oak floor is one that is made from Oak and installed in a specific ‘herringbone pattern’.  This pattern determines the name of how you have installed it.  The actual flooring is called parquet block, which is small blocks of Oak flooring, designed to be installed in different and unique ways. Herringbone is the most popular way of installing parquet block. It creates a recurring ‘v’ pattern across your floor.  The colour of the Oak depends on whether you have chosen a natural Oak or decided upon a colour stain.  Here are some examples of what it can look like.
