Can I use a mop to clean my hardwood floor?

Yes, you can use a mop to clean your hardwood floor, but it must be a damp mop, that has been wrung out.  If a wet mop is used then the water that is left on the surface of the floor could seep into the joints and cause water damage in the form of cracking, warping and discolouration.

A steam mop should never be used to clean a hardwood floor as the heat and moisture can penetrate the flooring and cause irreparable damage.
