Solid Maple Flooring

Solid Maple flooring has a uniquely distinctive smooth grain appearance.  It is mainly light in colour with cream and beige tones running throughout.  The contrasting flecks of darker brown make it an extremely distinctive type of hardwood flooring.  All of our Maple flooring has been finished with a satin lacquer to give a luxurious and superior appearance.

Our solid Maple flooring is made from solid pieces of Maple, which have been machined and sanded into planks of flooring.  It is available in either a prime grade (clean, uniform colour, without knots), or natural grade (the natural knots and grain patterns of wood), depending upon your personal taste.  It also has the traditional tongue and groove fitting system and has a beautiful lacquer which creates a smooth and easy to clean surface.

If you would like further information about solid wood flooring, please see our Wood Flooring Guide which helps to explain the structure, profile and finishes of the planks of flooring.  Also, see our Guide to Solid Wood Flooring to answer any questions you may have.

Why should I choose solid Maple flooring?
Solid Maple flooring is a great choice if you are looking for a naturally light coloured floor to brighten up a small or dark room.  It is easy to look after and will last for decades if cared for correctly.

As with all types of solid wood flooring, Maple can be sanded down and refinished to revive its beauty and lustre.  If your solid wood floor starts to become dull and lifeless then you may want to start thinking about having it professionally sanded and re-finished to restore its former glory.

How do I install and maintain solid Maple flooring?
Any type of solid wood flooring needs to be fixed into position.  This is because it is not stable enough to be floated over an undelay, it needs to be securely installed by either secret nailing, secret screwing or gluing down using flexible flooring adhesive.

For more details about installing your solid hardwood floor please read our Installation and Fitting Guide.
