Overview
Osmo Concrete Oil is a bland of natural oils and waxes which form a water and dirt repellent barrier. It is ideally suited for use in kitchens and bathrooms - on floors, wall paneling, window sills, table tops and work tops made of concrete, screed, artificial and natural stone, and unglazed tiles. Greatly reduces dust from concrete and screed surfaces and protects against staining.
Looking for an oil which protects external stone and concrete, try Osmo Stone and Terracotta Oil.
Please note: Applying this product to porous, underfoot surfaces such as tile flooring may alter the surface characteristics and slip resistance. Seek manufacturers advice for hand-made tiles such as terracotta, as a higher wax level may be required.
Preperation
Ensure that surfaces to be coated are clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, grease, wax, polish and any other surface contaminants. To ensure successful treatment, Osmo Concrete Oil should be applied to porous substrates only.
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish, as yellowing may occur on white and light coloured surfaces. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
- Apply first coat thinly and evenly using an Osmo Floor Brush and for small areas an Osmo Soft Tip Brush.
- Remove any surplus oil using a pad or lint free cloth.
- For larger areas, remove any excess oil using a rubber scraper and polish with a buffing machine.
- Once all oil has been absorbed, allow to dry for 8-10 hours.
- Apply a second thin coat and allow to fully dry.
- If renovating a previously oiled finish, then one coat on a prepared surface should be sufficient.
Cleaning Equipment
Application equipment can be cleaned using Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner (8000)
