3 Strip Engineered Wood Flooring

3 strip engineered hardwood flooring is essentially multiple strips of real hardwood bonded together with a plywood base to give additional strength and stability.  The plank of flooring consists of three distinctive, equal sized strips of wood (of the species of your choice) which have already been joined together to create a wide board, which offers a quicker installation time.  Once it has been installed it is difficult to tell that the three strips are joined together and the final appearance is natural and beautiful narrow looking planks of hardwood floor.

3 strip engineered wood flooring is both versatile and durable because of its engineered base layers.  It can be used in much more flexible ways than solid wood flooring, for example, it can be laid over an underlay or fixed down to the subfloor, it can be used with underfloor heating, and it can be used in rooms with large amounts of glazing or fluctuations in temperature.

Why should I choose engineered 3 strip flooring?

Engineered hardwood flooring with a 3 strip style has all the benefits of any engineered hardwood flooring, such as strength, durability and versatility but it also has a reduced fitting or installation time as three strips of flooring have already been joined together during the manufacturing process.  3 strip engineered flooring can be found in different styles (from characteristic Rustic Oak to a silvery grey Oak) and with a range of surface textures and finishes.

If you are still not sure about which particular type or style of flooring to choose, then please take a look at our Wood Flooring Guide, which offers more in-depth advice and information on the structure, profile and finish of our hardwood floors.
