Water damage can occur to your hardwood flooring if water is left to soak into the planks of flooring.  It can cause the planks of hardwood to warp, distort and become discoloured over time.

How to prevent water damage from occurring

Follow these simple steps to prevent water damage from occurring:

• Wipe away spills and accidents immediately to ensure the liquid does not penetrate or soak into the flooring.

• Ensure people remove any wet outdoor shoes before walking on your hardwood floor.

How to resolve water damage once it has happened

If your hardwood flooring has already been damaged by water and the planks are discoloured, distorted and warped then unfortunately there is little that can be done.  Your only option would be to remove the flooring, make sure the subfloor is completely dry and then install new flooring.
