Is hardwood flooring good for bathrooms?

No, wood flooring should not really be fitted in a bathroom, or any room with excess water and moisture. Hardwood flooring is a natural product so will naturally expand and contract with any changes in temperature and humidity, but if excess water is splashed onto the flooring and left to soak in, it could cause serious damage to the flooring.

A water damaged hardwood floor will often be warped, cupped and discoloured and in serious cases it can start to break up.  This type of damage is irreparable.
