Can I install a wooden floor in the bathroom?

The simple answer to this question is, No - it is not recommended to install a hardwood floor into a bathroom or shower room.

Hardwood flooring will expand and contract with fluctuations in temperature and humidity, and although engineered hardwood flooring is more dimensionally stable and can cope with these changes better than solid wood flooring, it is not advisable to install it in a bathroom, shower room or wet room.

There is also a huge risk of water damage as it is inevitable that water will be splashed onto your flooring and if it is not wiped away immediately it could penetrate into the flooring causing irreparable water damage in the form of warping, cupping and discolouration.
